Free and Fair Elections training under Tahrir Dialogue

The School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) Executive Education Unit at the American University in Cairo held three workshops in Assiut University from the 27th till the 28th of July, 2011 in collaboration with Al Masreyeen for Social Services and Human Rights NGO. Two of these workshops covered the issue of “Monitoring and Observing the Election Process”, and were organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Finland and delivered by Mr. Negad El Borai and Mr. Sherif Helaly, members of the Egyptian Civil Society.  The third workshop covered “Effective Journalism for the Elections” in collaboration with the Embassy of Ireland and was delivered by Prof. Mervat Abou Oaf, faculty member at the school of GAPP.

“This is considered part of an ongoing program on ‘Free and Fair Elections’ organized as a part of the school’s building a better Egypt initiative. GAPP Executive Education has delivered 2 workshops and a series of dialogues in Cairo in collaboration with the Carter Center, George Washington University and the Venice Commission of Europe. Now we are expanding to various governorates of Egypt” Dr. Dina Wafa, Director GAPP Executive Education.
