Expanded orientation session about Tamkeen’s Private Enterprise Support Programmes

Tamkeen’s Enterprise Development Support Agency conducted a special orientation session this week for over 200 business owners in Bahrain.
Spaces for the orientation sessions, which are a prerequisite to signing up for the Enterprise Development Support Programme, were rapidly filled up by business owners since the updates to the Enterprise Development Support Programme went into effect on June 1st. Applications to the Enterprise Development Support Programme jumped by a whopping 85% in June compared to May.
“Tamkeen’s orientation sessions were fully booked until the end of August,” said Tamkeen’s Senior Manager of Private Sector Support Mr. Mohammed Bucheery. “We are immensely pleased with this surge in interest from business owners looking to improve their businesses’ performance through Tamkeen’s varied support schemes to the private sector. “
Tamkeen took the decision to hold this expanded session to accommodate a much larger number of business owners, in addition to continuing the regular orientation sessions held five times a week at the Agency’s offices in Seef. The sessions offer applicants a detailed overview of all the programmes available to them through Tamkeen’s Private Sector Support, including the benefits of each programme and how to apply.
One of the attendees, Mr. Tariq Muhanna Al-Musailamani, attended the session on behalf of two companies, Tariq Services and Namariq accessories and said the session was engaging and the information was presented in a logical and easy-to-understand manner.
Mrs. Samina Yasmin echoed the sentiment saying she is very interested in the marketing scheme as she is looking to open a new fashion boutique that promotes the designs of up-and-coming Bahraini designers and gives them valuable experience.
The updates to Tamkeen’s Enterprise Development Support Programme, which came as a result of Tamkeen’s continued efforts to support Bahraini enterprises and make them more sustainable, cover three basic areas: increasing the level of financial support, simplifying the application process, and easing eligibility criteria.
The five Enterprise Development Support schemes with their new simplified names – Istishara (Business Development), Techania (Technical Assistance), Jawda (Quality Systems), Tarweej (Growth Assistance), and Tasweeq (Marketing Assistance) - offer a comprehensive array of high-standard professional schemes through certified high-calibre service providers aimed at improving the performance of these enterprises, increasing their productivity and efficiency, and putting them on the right track toward growth and prosperity, in line with the goals of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
"We continue to be inundated with requests from business owners eager to take advantage of the valuable support the programme provides, so it is highly likely that we will be conducting more of these sessions over the next few months as we continue our efforts to reach as many business owners as possible," Mr. Bucheery added.
Business owners wishing to book a space in the orientation sessions can visit Tamkeen's Enterprise Development Support Agency office at Meral Building, Seef District, or call 17 565393 or write to [email protected].
