ALBAWABA - A one-year-old baby was killed in a U.S-Israeli attack on a residential building in Tehran, Iranian media outlets reported Tuesday.
According to Mehr news agency, the body of a little girl was recovered from the rubble of a residential building in Tehran after it was struck by U.S. and Israeli missiles.
A video showing emergency workers searching through debris before retrieving the baby's body was shared on social media.
Social media activists were angered by the video, especially after the first day attack on a school in southern Iran that killed over 100 children.
A person posted the video and wrote on X, "A 1‑year‑old baby was found dead under the rubble in Tehran. USA & Israeli bombs aren't 'target the IRGC.' They’re destroying Iran. "
It is worth noting that on the first day of the American-Israeli war on Iran, Feb. 28, a U.S. missile hit a girls' school in Minab, southern Iran, leading to the killing of 168 people, including around 110 children, Iranian authorities said.
According to experts, a Tomahawk missile likely hit the school, adding that this type is not owned by either Israel or Iran, so it was 'likely' an American missile that struck the building in Minab city.
Meanwhile, the UN education agency, UNESCO, decried the bombing of the Shajareh Tayebeh primary school in Minab, saying it "constitutes a grave violation of humanitarian law".
