In the giving spirit of Ramadan, Eton Institute is offering a host of festive rewards aimed and elucidating the mystery surrounding the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The Institute welcomes the holy month with a free workshop on ‘Ramadan etiquette and cultural awareness’ followed by a free Arabic course throughout the month of August and a cultural evening focusing on the Arab culture and lifestyle. The popular initiatives will give expatriates and non-Arabs greater insight into the Arabic and Islamic culture in the United Arab Emirates.

Ramadan, the month of piety, patience, humility, and charity, is a spiritual time where Muslims across the globe refrain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk. Ramadan in the UAE is a deeply cultural experience and members of the country’s large expatriate population often find themselves curious and fascinated by the religious observance, making the holy month the ideal time to learn the culture, traditions and the poetic Arabic language in order to better understand the profoundly traditional customs of the region.

Ramadan Etiquette & Cultural Awareness Workshop: This free workshop is brought to you by Eton Institute in partnership with Dubai Knowledge Village and Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU). The 4 hour workshop will be facilitated by Mr. Nasif Kayed, General Manager of SMCCU, scheduled on 30th July, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Auditorium, Block 1, Dubai Knowledge Village.

Free Arabic courses: Every year for the last 5 years, Eton Institute has been offering a free course in Arabic language during the month of Ramadan and this year is no different. It will cover an entire beginner’s level in Arabic, with 15 minutes of each session being devoted to Ramadan etiquette and cultural awareness. Keeping in mind the high demand and limited places available, the Institute will be announcing the registration details only through their Facebook and Twitter community pages to its followers. Arabic Cultural Evening: The most enriching way of learning a language is to immerse oneself in its culture and live the experience. The cultural evenings hosted at Eton Institute are a great opportunity to get acquainted with the language, culture, traditions and people with similar interest. The Arabic cultural evening will be held on Thursday, August 18th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the language studio, a purpose built open resource centre to promote cultural diversity in the UAE, featuring a multimedia library and language learning material from all around the world.
