Director Mohammad Yasseen has denied recent allegations that a fight broke out between Egyptian actresses Yusra and Muna Zaki on the set of their upcoming film “Dam Ghazal” (Deer’s Blood). Circulating rumors claim that the dispute almost led one of the actresses to withdrawal from the film and that prominent Egyptian actor Nour El Sharif, had to intervene to restore the peace.
Yasseen was shocked by the rumor, and questioned how people can fabricate such lies and publish them without validation. However, Yasseen later revealed that there was a minor dispute between the actresses.
Yasseen stated that Muna, who likes to work in complete silence, was bothered by Yusra’s friends who came to watch her while filming, and were cheering every time she completed a scene. The film’s producer is scenarist Waheed Hamid, and Nour had appeared on the set that day to film a scene, Yasseen explained.
Despite the incident, the director characterized the relationship between Yusra and Muna as one based on mutual respect.
The cast for the upcoming film includes Yusra, Muna, Nour, Amro Wakid, Salah Abdul Allah, Mahmoud Abdul Almughni, and Abdul Aziz Makhyoun.
Egyptian director Majdi Abu Ameireh has announced that in July he will begin shooting the scenes for his upcoming television drama, staring Yusra. The drama, which has yet to be titled, will mark the third cooperative effort between Yusra and Maji, the first two being “Malak Rouhi’ and “Lika Ala El Hawa”.
Writer Mohammad Ashraf revealed that the drama was postponed for several years due to Yusra’s previous engagements. The plot of the new series revolves around the mantra that every person is naturally good, conveyed by Yusra’s character. She plays a woman who was raised in a negative environment, which led her to a life of crime. At the conclusion she is rehabilitated, enabling her to become a good wife and mother, enjoying a more stable, peaceful existence.
