The Egyptian Actors Association has given its approval to Egyptian actress Wafa Makky to resume her acting career, after serving a three-year jail sentence for brutally assaulting her maid. Head of the association, prominent actor Yousef Shabaan, noted that the association has renewed her membership and she may return to the scenes after the long absence.

According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, Wafa revealed that she intends on making a strong comeback to the scenes, and is currently reading scripts for plays and television dramas to chose the most suitable one for her debut.

Wafa had announced that she is in the search for a new look to return back to her audience with after a long absence. Wafa stressed that finding the right new look is very essential to her because it will give her the feeling of confidence as she begins a new journey in her acting career.

The actress stressed that she make all the necessary arrangements to start up her acting career once more and put her recent hardship behind her, noting that her heart and life belong to acting and the entertainment world.

Makky had finally been set free after serving a three-year jail sentence at al Qanater prison. The actress had been imprisoned after being found guilty of beating her maids. Last year, Makky was denied the second appeal she filed against her jail sentence. The actress was hopeful that the court would grant her the appeal after she had served half of her sentence, but the courts denied her request stating that the charges against her can not be given a lesser sentence and she must serve the entire term she has been convicted to.
