Syrian actress Touline Albakri has broken the record for the "shortest celebrity marriage," after divorcing her husband just one day after getting hitched.
By doing so, Touline beat American pop princess Britney Spears to the record, who married her childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas in 2004, only to have their marriage annulled 55 hours later.
Why the quickie divorce? Touline's ex-hubby's parents forced them to separate because they weren't happy with the fact that this wasn't Touline's first marriage.
The heartbroken starlet told her Facebook fans that she's had her wedding photos removed from FB because she wants to be honest about what happened, in the same way they were honest and genuine with their feelings towards her.
"Just like any woman, I dream of stability, security and raising a family," she wrote. "I married this decent man legitimately, but his family forced him to leave me because I'm divorced and an actress."
Touline told her fans that she has nothing to hide because she didn't do anything wrong.
"For any mother searching for a wife for her son, and who thinks that a woman's good morals are derived from her virginity; I'd like to point out that the virginity (purity) of the soul is much more important than that of the body's."
Touline ended her statement with an apology to her parents for putting them in this situation.
While the divorcee received many messages of support from her loyal fans, others stirred up a social media storm when they accused Touline of marrying because she is pregnant.
According to them, she showed an obvious baby bump in her wedding photos. Could she not just have been bloated from all the wedding cake, guys?
