ALBAWABA - Under the slogan “A homeland for its compatriots and the world,” Al-Nasr football club players have donned the Saudi traditional uniform to celebrate Saudi Arabia’s 93rd National Day.

Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo stood next to Senegalese player Sadio Mané, to perform the Saudi traditional dance, Ardah, waving swords in keeping with the rhythm of the drumbeat.

Ronaldo put on the traditional Saudi uniform of the white thobe, bisht, aqal, and shemagh.

The clip showed Portuguese team manager and former player Luis Castro putting the finishing touches on his Saudi uniform, while Croatian player Marcelo Brozović enjoyed drinking a cup of Saudi coffee.

The clip was originally shared on Al-Nasr FC's original Instagram page which has 19.5 million followers and captioned with:

“A homeland for its compatriots and the world. Here we dream and achieve. All together for one flag.”

Meanwhile, the Don supported his club and took part in the celebration by sharing the video as a story with his 606 million followers on Instagram, and captioned it with yellow and blue heart emojis, Al-Nasr colors, next to the Saudi flag.

Social media users expressed their admiration for the video which combined the elegance of the past and modernity.

They commented things like: “A historical clip,” and “Silence in the campus of beauty is a beauty. It is Saudi Arabia, it is the global victory, it is the Don, king of football, and what kind of beauty are you talking about?”

Saudi Arabia’s 93rd National Day

On September 23 of every year, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its National Day, during which its name was changed from the “Kingdom of Hejaz and Najd” to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932.
