Management of the Syrian Ministry of Culture’s National Theater has set plans for its shows during the 2002 season. The plan includes portraying a number of local and Arab plays.
According to the plan, 12 plays will be staged including Sae’i al Bareed (Postman) written by Mamdouh Adwan and directed by Mahmoud Khaddour, al Ayyam al Hilwa (Sweet Days) based on a text by Samuel Becket and directed by the Syrian director Maha al Saleh, according to the London based daily al Sharq al Awsat.
Among the plays which will also be staged are Diplomasiyyoun (Diplomats) written and directed by the Syrian actor Ghassan Masoud, Fawda (Chaos) scripted and directed by Ajaj Salim, Concerto scripted and directed by Maher Salibi and Venice Merchant written by Shakespeare and directed by Hussein al Edelbi.
The theater management has also set a plan to host some Arab plays this year including Contour Bus from Lebanon directed by Pauline Haddad and Hayat Hayat from Jordan and directed by Ghannam Ghannam -- Albawaba.com
