They say it's best to leave the dead alone, but showmakers of "Al Murafa'a" (The Trial) think otherwise!

The TV series revolves around the murder of a famous singer, who gets killed by a big-shot businessman in her home. Remind you of anyone?

Yep! The plot is identical to that of late Lebanese singer Suzan Tamim's murder, but Egyptian singer and actres Dolly Shahin, leading actress in "The Trial," says that it's definitely not based on Tamim's story, reports Sayidaty.net.

In 2008, Suzan was murdered in her Dubai home by Egyptian businessman Hisham Talaat Moustafa.

However, Suzan's father Abdel Sattar Tamim is absolutely furious with the showmakers and has threatened to sue them if they didn't cancel the show.

But Dolly is sticking to her story and has said that the only similarity between the drama and Suzan's life is the fact that the drama talks about the death of a famous celebrity at the hands of a businessman - erm, how is that different, Dolly?

"The Trial" stars Shaheen, Sherine Reda, Tamer Abdel Minem, Dina and Syrian actor Bassem Yakhour.

Amr Al Sheikh will be directing the drama.
