On June 15, 2003 marked the happiest day for UAE singer Ahlam, as she tied the knot to her first and only love Mubarak Al Hajiri. The big event took place at the Grand Hyatt in Dubai with the presence of a large number of Arab singers and important figures.
According to the London based Elaph, the wedding was marked to be very well-organized and elegant and held a number of surprises. The main surprises of the occasion were songs sung by some of the most prominent Arab singers. The Kuwaiti singer Nawal presented Ahlam with a special song written especially for her congratulating her in front of all the guests. Saudi singer Mohammad Abdo wrote two songs for Ahlam and sung them as a gift especially for her, as well as UAE singer Hussein Al Jasmi prepared a song especially for the couple and sang it for them as his gift.
Ahlam had refused to give out her wedding pictures to the media saying she wants to keep them to herself. She added that memories for an occasion like this should be kept to herself and her husband and do not need to be published on all tabloids.
Before the wedding, Ahlam was spotted in Lebanon on a very important visit in preparation for her wedding day. The singer had her wedding dress especially made by the international Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab, despite the fact that she is used to working with other Lebanese designers for other occasions.
It had taken Ahlam ages to confess that there has existed for quite some time a love relationship between her and Mubarak, saying that he is her first and last true love. During a trip to London with Mubarak, Ahlam revealed publicly the true nature of her relationship with Mubarak saying that she is proud to announce to the world that she has found the man of her dreams.
Ahlam said that from the first moment she laid eyes on Mubarak she knew he was the man she was searching for all these years, and ever since they have not parted once. She found in him all the characters and traits any woman looks for in the man of her dreams.
On his part, Mubarak admitted that Ahlam is a very sensitive woman who needs extra care. He vowed publicly to protect, love and take good care of her and treat her like a queen. He added that Ahlam deserves all the good things life has to offer and he will make sure she gets them. –Albawaba.com
