ALBAWABA - Spider-Man: Brand New Day has reached another extraordinary milestone at the global box office, crossing $2 billion worldwide after only three weekends in theaters and joining an elite group of the biggest films in cinema history.
The Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios blockbuster passed the $2 billion mark during its third weekend, becoming only the eighth movie ever to achieve the milestone. It also became the second-fastest film to reach $2 billion, behind only Avengers: Endgame.
The achievement came just 19 days after the film opened in theaters, underlining the extraordinary pace of its box-office run.
Tom Holland Leads Another Record-Breaking Spider-Man Run
The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and marks his fourth solo movie as the Marvel version of the character.
Brand New Day opened to enormous audiences and continued dominating theaters during its first three weekends. In North America alone, the film added an estimated $70 million during its third weekend, bringing its domestic total to approximately $785.8 million. Its worldwide total moved beyond $2 billion at the same time.
The movie had already established itself as one of the fastest-grossing releases of the year before reaching the latest milestone. It crossed $1 billion worldwide within its first week, while its second weekend pushed the film substantially higher.
Its opening was also remarkable. Reports placed its worldwide opening weekend at roughly $927 million, making it one of the biggest global openings ever recorded.
Eighth Film to Enter the $2 Billion Club

Crossing $2 billion puts Spider-Man: Brand New Day in rare company.
The films that had previously reached the landmark include Avatar, Avengers: Endgame, Avatar: The Way of Water, Titanic, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avengers: Infinity War and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The achievement is particularly notable for the Spider-Man franchise because the previous installment, Spider-Man: No Way Home, finished its theatrical run at around $1.9 billion, narrowly missing the $2 billion threshold. Brand New Day has now surpassed that total in less than a month.
The new film has also overtaken its predecessor to become the highest-grossing Spider-Man movie worldwide, according to current box-office reporting.
A Major Boost for Hollywood’s 2026 Box Office
The success of Brand New Day comes during an unusually strong summer for Hollywood.
The film has been one of several major releases driving audiences back into theaters, alongside Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which also crossed the $1 billion worldwide mark during its run. The combined performance of major blockbusters has contributed to a significant increase in the 2026 box office compared with the previous year.
Brand New Day has also continued to hold the No. 1 position at the North American box office, despite new competition arriving during its third weekend.
What Makes Brand New Day Different?
The movie follows Peter Parker after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which Doctor Strange's spell caused the world to forget Peter Parker's identity.
In Brand New Day, Peter has been living anonymously and operating as Spider-Man while facing a new threat in New York. The film also features Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo, among others.
For Marvel and Sony, the $2 billion milestone represents another extraordinary success for their collaboration on the character.
For Holland, meanwhile, Brand New Day has further cemented his Spider-Man films as some of the most commercially successful entries in the superhero genre.
With the movie still playing in theaters, its final worldwide total remains unknown. But after reaching $2 billion in only 19 days, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has already secured its place among the most successful theatrical releases ever made.
