ALBAWABA - On Saturday night, David Beckham came across the Spice Girls performing an unplanned musical reunion.
Tom Cruise, Eva Longoria, and Gordon Ramsay were among the guests at former footballer Victoria's 50th birthday party in London.
But what really got the crowd going was a reunion of the five Spice Girls: Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, David Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, and Victoria Beckham. David had recorded the smash song "Stop," which they sang.
"Best night ever!" Victoria Beckham captioned the video she published on her own Instagram account. It is my birthday! Your love is immense. She also included the hashtag #SpiceUpYourLife.
In honor of the 25th anniversary of the track from their 1997 second album, "Spiceworld," the trio also released a retro alternative video last year.
There have been whispers of a full-on reunion, maybe for a tour or new songs, which has led to the pop-up performance. Melanie B, also known as Scary Spice, said last month in an interview with "Today" that the quintet is collaborating on a "very good" project. She sidestepped inquiries about a possible reunion tour by referring to their current collaboration as "the gift that keeps on giving."
After forming in 1994, the Spice Girls lasted barely six years until their first separation in 2000. Additionally, in 2019, the band began their reunion tour, of which Victoria Beckham was not a member. Before it, they hadn't regrouped since 2012's London Olympics closing ceremony. The 2007 "The Return of the Spice Girls Tour" was the last time the ladies reunited onstage; it made $70.1 million at the box office.
