He may have just opened up his most commanding lead ever in the Republican polls, but it seems Saturday Night Live is still finding ways to poke fun at Donald Trump.

The show's cold-open skit tonight featured Taram Killam and Cecily Strong reprising their Trump and Melania impressions from the show's opening slot.

This time 'Trump' was back with a festive message for his fans - putting people on a naughty and nice list, boasting 'my concept by the way.'

He also had a holiday-themed welcome for viewers. 'Merry Christmas,' he said. 'To the Jews, happy Hanukkah, and to the Muslims, send me your names.'

The joke is a reference to Trump's much-criticized comments in the wake of the Paris terror attacks that all Muslims should be registered on a database.

First up on the nice list was the polls, which Donald praised, saying: 'The latest poll has me leading by 20 per cent, it's finally starting to sink in people, I'm going to be President!'

Strong's Melania then added: 'Yes it's so exciting, Donald is always walking around the house talking to himself saying "Oh my God, I can't believe this might happen, what is going on?"'

Next on Donald's list is 'the nutcracker, by which I mean Hillary Clinton.'

The Democratic frontrunner, who may well face off against Trump in the run for President next year, makes a shock entry on Trump's nice list.

'I couldn't believe it', he explains 'she actually called me the other day.'

Melania then takes over, adding: 'It was amazing, she said "I hope you are the Republican nominee, please, please let this happen." It was so sweet!'

However, Mark Zuckerberg has managed to land himself on Trump's naughty list by giving away almost all his Facebook fortune to charity.

While Zuckerberg's generous spirit seems to rile Trump - 'what are you doing you little nerd?' - Melania is simply confused as to how he will stay married without money.

Not to be outdone, however, Trump is keen to point out he is also capable of being charitable. 'One time, I banged a seven,' he says.

Also on Trump's naughty list is Santa himself, who he brands 'a foreigner who works one day a year and gives handout' before adding 'he's worse than Obama'.

'I also can't trust anybody who can fly over a wall', the fake Trump says - referencing the real Trump's policy to build a wall along the Mexican border to keep migrants out.

The skit comes weeks after the actual Donald Trump hosted the show for the second time in his career - the first being back in 2004 when he was launching The Apprentice.

Killam also featured his Trump impression in that show, alongside the real-life Donald, and Darrell Hammond - who impersonated Trump in an earlier incarnation of SNL.
