Budding fashionistas competed in Deira City Centre’s “Style Star Search” last week, where they had the opportunity to express their personal and unique sense of style in the hopes of winning the title of “Style Star.”
The Dubai-based contest took place over a three-day weekend from Thursday, March 13 - Saturday, March 15.
In a grand finale, Iraqi singer and winner of Star Academy Shatha Hassoun made an appearance on March 15. The starlet met up with the contestants and shared her own style tips and must-have items with them.
The event was hosted in the Metro Link area, where a custom-built photo studio and red carpet were set up for the hunt for the most fashionable shopper, reported Emirates 24/7.
Contestants strutted their stuff in front of a professional photographer, making each one of them feel like a celeb for the day.
The top 20 most-fashionable persons will be selected by a panel of fashion experts based on personal expression, individuality and style sense. Their photos will be put up for a public vote on the Deira City Centre’s social media pages.
The winner with the most votes will be crowned ‘Style Star’ for 2014 on March 31.
In addition, the lucky winner will receive the sum of $5,400 and appear on the cover of Haya Magazine.
