Anyone who attended Shakira 's May 15 performance at MetLife Stadium may have been exposed to the sickness that has been sweeping the United States in recent months, according to a warning released by the New Jersey Health Department on Tuesday.
The possible exposure was "linked to a recently discovered case of measles in a non-NJ resident who attended a concert in NJ while infectious," according to officials.

Although there are currently no verified cases linked to the concert, officials cautioned that symptoms could appear in affected individuals as late as June 6.
The CDC reported that 1,024 measles cases had been diagnosed in 31 U.S. states as of last week.
The highly contagious sickness has now claimed the lives of three people.
Shakira concertgoers were advised by the NJDOH to be cautious of any potential measles symptoms, which include a high fever, cough, runny nose, watery red eyes, and a rash that typically develops three to five days after symptoms start.
Additionally, they advised people to make sure their measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccinations are current.
The outbreak panic coincides with concerns about Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s personal opinions regarding vaccines and how he handled the recent outbreak.
During the House Appropriations Committee hearing last week, he was interrogated by Democratic lawmakers about his past vaccine-related assertions, such as the falsehood that the MMR vaccine contained "aborted fetus debris," and his choice to cut funding for vaccine programs.
"My opinions about vaccines are irrelevant," Mark Pocan said at the hearing, adding, "I don't think people should be taking medical advice from me." Pocan also stated that he would "probably" vaccinate his children against measles today, but he continued to back down on the issue.
Measles may be lethal and has now crossed the U.S. border into Canada and Mexico.
It can cause serious health problems, including pneumonia and encephalitis, especially in young children who have not had vaccinations. It can also cause miscarriages in pregnant women, early birth, or low-birth-weight babies.
Those who have never had measles or who have not had all recommended vaccinations are the most vulnerable.
