Scream 7 studio dismisses Melissa Barrera amid pro-Palestine stance

ALBAWABA - Mexican actress Melissa Barrera was fired from the studio behind the reboot Scream movies, Spyglass Studio amid her social media posts in support of Palestine on Tuesday.

Spyglass Studio representatives confirmed to US Today that she would not be starring in the 7th installment of the franchise. 

The studio later told Variety that their "stance is unequivocally clear: We have zero tolerance for antisemitism or the incitement of hate in any form, including false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing, Holocaust distortion or anything that flagrantly crosses the line into hate speech."

On Tuesday afternoon, Barrera shared countless posts on her Instagram stories of the thousands of kids being slaughtered in Gaza since October 7 and added a video of pro-Palestine protests in Philadelphia, USA asking for a "Ceasefire" amid the genocide in Gaza. 

According to Variety, the studio "quietly dropped" Melissa Barrera as the star of the seventh installment of the Scream franchise after she regularly posted on the topic.

Melissa Barrera believes that compassion must prevail

Melissa took to her official Instagram account and made a post asking officials to ceasefire in Gaza since "as human beings, they have been witnessing the devastating loss of lives and unfolding horrors in Palestine and Israel."

She later put up a donation link in her bio for people to donate money for the children in Gaza under the name of Save The Children.

Melissa Barrera is not the only celebrity who is demanding a ceasefire in Gaza many others spoke up as well including, Mark Ruffalo and Susan Sarandon.

Susan was recently fired by her Hollywood agency, UTC amid her pro-Palestine stance.
