Life in Syria is tough if you're a star. With a famous name, the likelihood of being targeted increases ten-fold and many Syrian luvvies have decided to move out to the relative safety of Dubai or Cairo.
But legendary songster, Sabah Fakhri, is one of the few stars staying put and this week he had to face the consequences after rumors spread that he was assassinated by armed men in Aleppo.
Sabah has fought back, telling the Ana Zahra website that he is very much alive and that the rumors were started but people trying to make a fast buck. However, he is not the first Syrian celebrity to be the subject of death reports and surely won't be the last.
