Legendary rocker Rod Stewart is coming to the UAE again, this time to Abu Dhabi. After wowing audiences in Dubai two years ago, Stewart will be in Abu Dhabi next year to perform at a private party of 5,000 VIPs on the night of November 2, 2013. Stewart’s performance comes as part of a three-day invitation-only luxury exhibition called The Collection, which will be launched in Abu Dhabi for the first time next year.

The Collection, which will run from October 31 to November 2, is expected to bring 100 of the world’s most iconic high-end brands and three auction houses to the capital.

An international Arabic singer, whose name has not yet been announced, will perform on the first night of the exhibition, said Chris James, founder and managing director of The Collection. On the second day, a rivalry tennis match is scheduled to take place between two celebrity sports stars. Their names have also not been announced.

The invitation-only event will bring an audience of 15,000 VIPs, both local and international, to the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre over the course of three days. Those receiving the “gold invitation” will be predominantly up to the participating brands, who will extend the invitations to their best clients, said James.

Auctions will take place over the three days on items such as vintage cars, vintage jewellery and works of art from galleries around the world. The Collection will take place in Abu Dhabi every year around the time of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and in 2014, The Collection will be taken to Monaco and Mumbai. Other cities on the list include Hong Kong and New York.
