Syrian journalist Reem Marouf has begun recording a new patriotic song titled “Al Hub Al Awal Huwa Al Sham” (The first love is Syria). Reem will also film a music video to accompany the song. The song Reem has recorded was supposed to be sung by Syrian actress Raghda, but she backed out at the last minute.
According to the London based Elaph, Reem will be entering the music world for the first time in her career.
The song is composed by Khaled Hayder and director Loay Bir Qadar will direct the music video. Filming will take place in the historic neighborhoods of Damascus in the upcoming few days and the video will be aired on a number of satellite television channels.
