Egyptian actress Rania Youssef has been arrested after police found illegal drugs in her car. According MBC.net, the police station received a call from an anonymous witness who said they he had seen two men and a woman opening a suitcase in a parked car and placing weapons in it before seeing them open a second bag, which clearly had drugs in. The car in question was Rania Youssef's.
Rania has strongly denied being in possession of drugs and claimed she'd been set up by stalker ex-husband. The incident occurred exactly one day after Rania had filed a restraining order against her ex-husband Karim Al Shabrawi and his mother. Rania claimed that Karim and his mother had made several threats to her and were stalking her constantly.
The Qasr Al Nile Police Station brought the actress in to take her statement with regards to the allegations against her. Rania’s car has been confiscated until investigation is complete.
