If we had a penny for every person moaning about the inappropriateness of the TV dramas airing in Ramadan, we'd be minted by now!
Controversial Egyptian lawyer Nabeeh al Wahsh was the latest unhappy viewer to file a complaint to an Egyptian court, asking them to ban 40 dramas from airing on local and satellite TV channels.
You can hate 5 shows tops, but 40?
According to Sayidaty.net, Nabeeh was totes shocked by the number of dancing, excessive drinking and sex scenes popping up on his TV screen while flicking through the channels. The lawyer said that almost every drama discusses prostitution this year and he just doesn't get the point of their exaggerated events!
In an open message to the Egyptian PM Ibrahim Melheb, Nabeeh said, "Why did you only ban Haifa Wehbe's "Halawet Rouh"? Look at the dramas being aired, which contain much worse scenes than those featured in Haifa's film."
In Nabeeh's point of view, the showmakers have 11 months in the year to create whatever provocative productions they please. But he reminds them that the Holy month should be left for worshipping God alone!
