While the whole world mourns the death of the 150 passengers who lost their lives in the Germanwings plane crash on Tuesday, Lebanese superstar Ragheb Alama talked about how he survived a would-have-been plane crash of his own.

The frequent flyer was headed to Cairo from Paris on Tuesday, when the plane's technical team spotted a malfunction minutes before passengers boarded the commercial jet, according to Al Watan Voice news.

The X Factor judge and the passengers had to endure an exhausting seven-hour wait until the problem was fixed.

An exhausted Alama tweeted his fans from Cairo saying, "Good morning from Cairo, after a very long day of traveling because of a sudden malfunction in our plane just before boarding. We had to sit in the airport for seven hours and wait until it was fixed."

"We were supposed to reach Cairo at 6:30pm but we got there at 3:30am instead. What's important is that we got there safely; thank God for everything," Alama said in a follow-up tweet.

Although leaving Paris was a hectic mission for Alama, the singer did have a great time while vacationing there. The superstar posted a Facebook picture of him with former French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, whom Ragheb said he bumped into on the street outside his Paris home.

Alama described Giscard as "respectable and educated," adding that they briefly discussed the political situation in Lebanon and the Arab world, with the politician expressing his huge love for Lebanon.
