The reality TV star and the entrepreneur have decided to go their separate ways, according to court documents filed on Thursday.
Porsha Williams, who is returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta for its 16th season, has filed for divorce from her husband Simon Guobadia after 15 months of marriage. People reported the news of the split on Friday, February 23, 2024, with a source telling the publication that the breakup has nothing to do with rumors surrounding Guobadia’s citizenship status.
Williams, 42, and Guobadia, 59, tied the knot in November 2022 in a lavish Nigerian traditional ceremony in Atlanta, followed by a second wedding in the same month. The couple celebrated their first anniversary with extravagant gifts, including a diamond ring for Guobadia from Williams.
However, it seems that the romance fizzled out soon after, as the pair recently spent Valentine’s Day together in Dubai, where they shared photos and videos of themselves posing with roses, balloons, and a teddy bear. Just five days before Williams filed for divorce, she posted a video of them kissing on a jet ski and called him her “ride or die”.
The reason for their split is still unknown, as the court documents have been made private. A source told People that the cause of their breakup is an “ongoing matter”. Williams’ reps did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Williams is the mother of 4-year-old daughter Pilar, whom she shares with ex Dennis McKinney. Guobadia has five children from previous relationships: Quentin, Nicole, Christian, Benjamin, and Ximena.
