A Lebanese cameraman filed a complaint against Emirati singer Ahlam and her husband after the latter allegedly beat him up and broke his camera.

Taher Nassif filed a complaint at the Zouk police station, claiming Ahlam's husband beat him up and destroyed his camera after filming the singer for an interview on the set of Arab Idol, a talent show in which Ahlam is one of three judges.

Police summoned Ahlam to the station, but the prominent singer's lawyers represented her instead.

Nassif's fiancé told The Daily Star that the reporter accompanying Nassif asked Ahlam a question which the singer did not answer during an interview for a show produced by the Dubai-based Middle East Broadcasting Center.

"She asked Nassif to remove that part from the video and he agreed," she said.

Ahlam's husband later took Nassif to an isolated area where he proceeded to beat him and break his camera.

An-Nahar reported that the MBC management, which produces the show, tried to dissuade the cameraman from filing a complaint and offered him money as compensation but to no avail.
