A year ago today, the Arab world not only mourned the death of an iconic singer, but the death of a woman who lived and loved freely: Lebanese superstar Sabah.

The late eccentric singer-actress died on November 24, 2014 in Lebanon. She lived a "larger-than-life" life on both personal and professional levels.
Although she was 87 when she passed away, Sabah never shied away from dressing up to the nines for all occasions during all her age brackets.

She was a vivacious woman in every sense of the word.
“You want me to tell you what my secret is?” Sabah said in a 2012 interview with Al-Akhbar newspaper. “The secret – that no one knows – is that I am reconciled with myself and I worked very hard to be different, successful, elegant, generous and loving.”
But we aren't mourning her death today; we are celebrating her life. Those were her wishes after all.
Clauda Aqel, the deceased's niece, told Sabah's fans last year "not to cry."
"She (Sabah) says goodbye and asks you not to be sad or cry. She told me to tell you to put dabkeh on and dance. She wants this to be a happy day not a sad one. She said that she wants you to always be happy, with her being there and without her being there, just as she always made you happy.
So today we shall dance to the music of Sabah, and remember one thing we loved about her with each beat.
