Pop icon Amal Hijazi was guest on OTV's “Nawwarna El Layl” (We Lit Up the Night), where she expressed her joy at the month of Ramadan, referring to it as the month of love and forgiveness.

But she then quickly went on to contradict herself by saying: “I don't want to cause any problems with anyone by saying this, but in the West when a new star comes out they undergo counseling first; I think that every star in the Arab world needs to see a psychologist!”

Does that include you Amal?

As for the alleged dispute between her and Lebanese star Elissa – which won't surprise us if it were true – she said: “There's no disagreement between us, I'm fond of Elissa and her songs. Her voice is beautiful, and her feelings are even more beautiful.”

She went on to say: “Elissa's song 'Fean El Dameer' (Where's the Conscience) was not given enough publicity on TV and radio. The song talks about pain and suffering and it means a lot to me, but I wouldn't ask for money in return of broadcasting it if it were my own song.”

Do you think stars need psychological treatment, or are they OK the way they are now?
