Is MBC TV host Ola Al Fares racist? Judging by photos she posted on Snapchat this week, the public opinion is that she has definitely crossed the line.
Ola, who is a high-earning celebrity in the Arab world, posted a Snapchat photo of six Asian maids lined up in a room, along with the caption: "Sooo... I'm lost."
The second photo was of a seventh Asian maid standing alone in the same room. This time, the caption was both insensitive and rude.
"What do you guys think? I'm so incapable of making decisions today... forget about her 'elegant outfit,' I'll fix that later," Ola wrote, accompanied by a sarcastic emoji at the end of the sentence.

Social media users were utterly disappointed and shocked by what the 31-year-old wrote.
However, Ola quickly responded to her fans by apologizing for her Snapchat posts, while insisting that she had nothing but good intentions when she shared those photos.
"Despite my good intentions, I deeply apologize for the upset I've caused by posting those photos. Whoever knows me well knows that I don't discriminate against anyone, regardless of their race or nationality," Ola's apologetic tweet stated.
But are we really surprised by the way Ola behaved? She does come from a country where, unfortunately, many people look down on maids and mistreat them.
Racism towards maids from the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and other countries is a huge problem in other parts of the Middle East, as well.
Often we hear stories about ill-treated maids taking revenge on their host families by torturing, or even killing, them or their children.
