Remember growing up glued to your old TV set? You surely had your share of playing football or playing dress-up, but you wouldn’t be a true Arab if you weren’t attached to any of the fictional characters I’m about to mention. And no, I’m not pointing at Hannah Montana or Zack and Cody. I’m talking way back before all that Disney, tweeny stuff.

Below are nine of the best shows you probably still can’t get over, shows that shaped an entire generation.

Full House [1987-1995]

That was the sitcom that got the whole family attached. You wouldn’t be a true fan if you’re favorite uncle wasn’t uncle Jesse. Are you watching Fuller House, the spin-off by Netflix?

Boy Meets World [1993-2000]

Because Cory and Topanga were goals, and after more than a decade, they still are.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer [1997-2003]

“Into every generation, a slayer is born,” were the very first words on the show 20 years ago. A sure thing is that Buffy was definitely the heroine each and every girl (and boy) of our generation looked up to.

Angel [1999-2004]

Even though you probably grew up wanting to be a vampire slayer, you can’t deny you’ve had a crush on one of them, the vampires I mean. That kind of attention David Boreanaz’s character received on the show, resulted in the spin-off series Angel.

Charmed [1998-2006]

This was another charming female attempt to fight evil. If you secretly played the role of one of the Halliwell sisters with your friends, then you’d probably get excited for a reboot. YES, A REBOOT! The CW made an announcement earlier this year about a prequel for the show. However, there hasn’t been any further announcements and rumor has it that they might be working on redevelopment of their plans.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch [1996-2003]

Another heroine and another witch, seems like girls were all over magic spells at that time. Not just that, but there’s another reboot as well! Netflix, again, just announced that they’re having their share of witchcraft with their new dark reboot of the hit series.

Even Stevens [2000-2003]

(Poster art copyright belongs to Buena Vista Television)

This was probably one of Disney channel’s coolest shows ever. You just couldn’t help but laugh.

Lizzie McGuire [2001-2004]

(Poster art copyright belongs to Buena Vista Television)

Another one of Disney’s best works that got even better and better with The Lizzie McGuire Movie. “Sing to me Paolo!”

Friends [1994-2004]

(Poster art copyright belongs to Warner Bros)

Saving the best for last, no one could disagree that Friends is one of the greatest shows in history.
