It was a battle of the singing giants as Nancy Ajram took on Wael Kfoury in the charts but the pair look like they have reached a truce after reports emerged this week of a duet between the Lebanese songsters.
Earlier this month, surgery queen, Nancy, looked to have the upper hand when she was offered the job of judge on 'Arab Idol' - the talent show sensation. But last week Wael knocked her album off the top chart position and Nancy was left reeling.
However, as they say - if you can't beat them, then join them - and the clashing couple are set to do just that. Nancy announced the plan to reporters this week: "The idea came when we met by coincidence at a dinner party for a mutual friend. I proposed the idea and he immediately agreed,” she said.
When the duet sees the light of day, it will mark the first time that Nancy has collaborated with anyone. Wael is not quite a dueting virgin but hasn't strutted his stuff since singing with Nawal al Zoghbi at the beginning of his career. It remains to be seen if the duo can set aside differences and make beautiful music together.
