Popular leading artistes in the region will perform at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), Sakhir on April 17.

The race-goers of Formula 1™ Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix will get an opportunity to witness top-class Arabic music by the artistes, featuring legendary Kuwaiti singer Abdulla Rowaishid, Lebanese songbird Najwa Karam, Iraqi singer-composer Waleed Alshami and Lebanese superstar Amr Zain.

The Arabic concerts are a part of the stellar entertainment programme put together by BIC for the Bahrain Grand Prix. The weekend’s off-track festivities will be headlined by a Saturday concert by international music superstar Pitbull.

A pair of other top globally renowned artistes has also been signed up and they will be performing live during BIC’s Race Fever programme.

Race Fever is highlighted by three main events: a Red Bull X Fighter motorbike stunt show, a raffle offering the public a brand new Jaguar F-Type and back-to-back performances by popular British band The Vamps and talented Swedish DJ Otto Knows.

Abdulla Rowaishid is one of the most beloved musicians to come from the Arab world. He has been nicknamed ‘The Ambassador of the Gulf Song.’ His last studio release was in 2011, entitled ‘Enty Helm,’ which translates into ‘You are a Dream.’

Najwa Karam is one of the best-selling artistes in the Middle East, having sold more than 60 million records worldwide. She is one among the valubale artistes in the region.  As a pioneer in her craft, she has helped transform traditional Arab music to a more contemporary style today.

Iraqi singer Waleed Alshami first made waves as a composer with his hit song ‘Ya Mhajir,’ which was performed by his fellow artist Hatem Al Iraqi. He then created a series of successful collaborations with established artistes such as Rashed Almajed and Abdul Majeed Abdulla.

Amr Zain is a leading Lebanese singer who is favourite among scores of music lovers in the region. His chart-topping hits have become a regular part of the playlists on national radio stations across the region.

All those with tickets to the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend will be able to attend the concerts, said a press release. For more information, call +973-17-450000 or visit www.bahraingp.com.
