The final episode of the weekly popular show “Star Academy”, which has so far been considered one of the most popular shows in the Arab world, ended with announcing Egyptian contestant 20-year-old Mohammad Attia the winner of Star Academy defeating his Kuwaiti opponent 21-year-old Bashar Al Shati.
The final episode witnessed a large crowd of people all anxious to find out who will walk away with the title that 12 contestants had begun working towards four months ago. The last six contestants who left the academy after they were eliminated from the contest before the final episode were all present and each featured a performance.
Syrian singer Asalah Nasri was held as the special guest, after Algerian singer Warda was forced to turn down her invitation to be present on the final episode of the show due to the fact that her health condition was deteriorating, along with Lebanese singer Ghassan Saliba. The final episode also witnessed numerous reportages about each student and certain events that happened during their stay at the academy.
The next step for the students of the academy is a tour around the Arab world, which is scheduled to begin during the end of April with the first stop being in Bahrain and ending in Lebanon. Upon winning the title of Star Academy, Mohammad has so far been receiving numerous offers to star in different works for television and the cinema. –Albawaba.com
