It all begins tomorrow as Florence, Italy says "bonjourno" to films, art, music and food from our region as part of the fifth edition of Middle East Now. The festival featuring a full week of fun from our part of the world runs from April 9 to 14.

The event's website indicates Lebanese rock band Mashrou' Leila will light up the night on Friday, April 11. They've already performed to packed house around MENA and other European countries, and now they'll display to the boot-shaped country just how down we can get with our indie bands.

The National reported that other exciting treats that will make Italians say pass to pizza include," a retrospective of the works of the Palestinian director Hany Abu-Assad, whose Oscar-nominated film Omar will open the festival, and an exhibition by the photographer Edoardo Delille on the biggest Iranian community in Italy, which happens to be in Florence."
