Legendary Syrian songstress, Mayada Al Hinawi, has been out of the spotlight for many years so the diva needed to catch the attention of the region's media again with her latest release.
The queen of the comeback will be putting out a track controversially dedicated to the land of Kurdistan. Although Kurds live throughout Syria, Iraq and Turkey, there is no such country as yet.
The new single 'Kurdistan Ya Watan Al Abtal' (Kurdistan Land of Heroes), written by poet Mahdi Al Jawhari, certainly lays out Mayada's politics in the open.
But the legendary crooner is hoping that fans will love the music as much as the message behind it.
