Egyptian actress Elham Shahin and the cast of the new television drama series "Mas'alit Mabda" (A Matter of Principle) have just returned from Paris-France after shooting the outdoor scenes for the series. Director Khairy Ibsharah of the series revealed that Paris was the best choice for the final scenes of the drama.

According to the Egyptian based daily, Al Ahram, a crew of professional French cameramen assisted in the filming of the scenes. All the scenes are now ready and are currently in the production stage.

Singing in films or TV drama series is not an unusual thing for Elham, as she has come to be a master of the art, but for the first time throughout her career, the actress will be singing songs she herself has written. In the new TV drama series “Nijmat Al Jamaheer” (Superstar), Elham will be performing three songs from poems she has written, which is an additional talent she possesses.

The singer revealed that writing poems has become one of her favorite hobbies and throughout the course of time her writings have reached the level of being sung in front of an audience, a matter which she feels is a turning point in her career.

Recently, disputes broke out once more between Elham and Egyptian actress Nadia Al Jundi over the new TV series “Nijmet Al Jamaheer, which Elham is taking part in. Nadia claimed that the film is about her and tackles her life since she is the one who won the award for number one actress. Elham expressed that the film has nothing to do with Nadia and the latter has no right to argue such a case. The film revolves around the life of an actress who has reached top stardom, but throughout her journey of success encounters several problems that end her career and life at the end. Most of the scenes of the film are shot in different places around Egypt and France.

Previously, Shahin accused Nadia of buying her award for best actress along with most of the awards she won in the past. Elham said that Nadia has a habit of pressuring and manipulating judges in order to receive awards, which are not rightfully hers. Elham added that the award Nadia received in Lebanon for best actress in the film "Ishtar" is the biggest proof. The judges awarded Nadia as the best actress for the film before it reached them. Elham's anger towards Nadia was when the latter said that Elham's role in the film (Al Raghba) (Desire) was a complimentary one which held no real significance.

Shahin has turned down an offer to star in the international film “Alexandar the Great”, which is scheduled to begin filming scenes early next year. The film is a joint Lebanese, Greek, and French cooperation and revolves around the life of Alexander the Great since his early years.

Elham revealed that she had turned down the offer due to the fact that her role is a very small one a matter which the actress refuses to accept. The leading role in the film is to be played by young Egyptian actor Ahmad Fishawi alongside a large cast of actors from different countries. The scenes of the film will be shot mainly in Rome, Greece, France, Egypt, and Lebanon, with an estimated budget of around 20 million Egyptian pounds. - Albawaba.com
