Over 25,000 fans packed into the du Arena for a memorable night of exceptional musical entertainment as the legendary Lionel Richie took to the Yasalam After-Race Concerts stage in Abu Dhabi. The electric atmosphere within du Arena was already charged by the time the iconic performer took to the stage as fans greeted the breaking news displayed on the concert screens that Abu Dhabi would celebrate this year's New Year's Eve with the return of superband Coldplay at the du Arena.

Richie grasped this extra wave of excitement and took the party up a gear opening with "Run with the Night" then followed with super-famous tracks "Hello" to "All Night Long", showing all his class as the ultimate showman. As the night continued Richie made every single fan feel as if they were being serenaded by the superstar.

Building towards a climatic finish he then enraptured the crowd with his enigmatic performance belting out his incredible catalogue of hits to take them on a non-stop personal musical journey. He was supported by home-grown indie-folk trio, Vandalye, who opened the night on the main arena stage.
Parties continue at Yasalam After Hours
Celebrating long into the night were the parties of Yasalam After Hours where Travis Scott kept the good times rolling at MAD while Jay Sean, DJ Ono (Bangkok Invaders) and DJ PHB appeared at Amber Lounge. Showcasing the star power of the festival Drake thrilled the crowds at VIP Room while White Dubai Experience offered something completely different at Iris.
