Saudi short film "Daesh Girl" will soon be screened at the Eppfilms Indie Theater films festival in the US, which runs from 6 June - 8 October 2017.

The film is a compelling story of love, friendship, death and sacrifice, set against a backdrop of war, hatred and intolerance in one of the world's most troubled regions.

"Daesh Girl" tells the story of Sarah, a young Arab woman drawn into a world of violence and treachery when her best friend, Noorah, is abducted by Islamic militants and forced into servitude. The necessity of freeing Noorah forces Sarah to concoct a desperate scheme which will put her in the greatest possible danger, as she goes undercover to infiltrate one of the world's most ruthless and deadly extremist groups, with the aim of freeing her friend and killing her captors.

The thrilling production was written by Abdulmohsen Al-MutairiSarah Louise Moyer, directed by Al-Mutairi and stars Ahmed Alghamdi and Dareen Abdi.

Al-Mutairi says that he's made this film to "raise awareness about terrorism and to give voice to the voiceless in the Middle East. My aim is to provide an avenue for discussion on such issues as women's rights in Middle Eastern countries and human trafficking, and to focus on those individuals who are on the frontline everyday fighting extremism."
