'Vanderpump Rules' Lala Kent says looks, intelligence were low priority when choosing sperm donor for 2nd baby.

Lala Kent, the star of the reality TV show “Vanderpump Rules”, has revealed that she is expecting her second baby.

The 33-year-old shared the happy news on Instagram on Sunday, March 3, 2024, with a photo of her baby bump and her 2-year-old daughter, Ocean Kent Emmett, whom she shares with ex-fiancé, Randall Emmett.

“I’m expanding my pod,” Kent wrote in the caption, adding that she was using Mary Ruth Organics vitamins to support her pregnancy. The post received many congratulatory comments from her fans and friends, including fellow Bravo star Heather Dubrow.

Kent also said in an Instagram story that she was very happy that she finally shared the news with her followers, and that she would talk more about her pregnancy on her podcast, “Give Me Lala”, starting with a special bonus episode to be released on March 4.

Kent’s pregnancy announcement comes just weeks after she opened up to Cosmopolitan about her decision to conceive her second baby via intrauterine insemination (IUI) — a treatment where sperm is surgically placed in a uterus to fertilize an egg. Kent said she chose this option because she wanted to have more children without depending on finding a partner.

“I knew I wanted more kids,” Kent said to Cosmopolitan. “It was such a strange thing that was happening because everyone would tell me, ‘You’re going to find somebody.’ And I got to thinking, ‘Why does my wanting more children need to involve another person?’ I think if there’s a will, there’s a way. I knew a donor was an option, and I knew IUI was an option.”

Kent said she was grateful that this was an option for her, and that she wanted to inspire other women who wanted to have children on their own terms. “I really saw myself in the cookie-cutter relationship and creating a family, but now that the universe has other plans for me, I’m so grateful this was an option,” Kent said. “If you want children and are only waiting for ‘that person’ to come into your life, let’s talk about a different route that we can take.”

Kent is not the only “Vanderpump Rules” star who is expanding her family. Her co-stars Scheana Shay, Brittany Cartwright, and Stassi Schroeder all welcomed their first babies in 2023. Kent said she was excited for Ocean to have playmates, and that she was looking forward to meeting her second baby soon. “I can’t wait to see what this little one looks like and what their personality is like,” Kent said. “I’m just so excited for this journey.”
