ALBAWABA - Kim Kardashian's brand of shapewear "SKIMS" caught in a scandal when one of their trucks was found loaded with $8.4 million worth of cocaine according to the UK's National Crime Agency.
The driver, a Polish man, was arrested on September 9, 2025, after the truck was intercepted in the Port of Harwich, Essex, UK. The man was sentenced to 13 years in prison for attempting to smuggle cocaine.
The investigation uncovered 90 packages of cocaine, each weighing about 1kg, in the rear doors of the truck. The discovery was made using X-ray technology that showed irregularities in the truck's frame, in addition, the driver made a 16-minute stop, which he couldn't account for in questioning.
SKIMS has denied having any knowledge of the crime in attempt to distance itself from the criminal activities: "SKIMS is aware of the recent news involving a shipment with our products. We want to be absolutely clear: SKIMS had no knowledge whatsoever about this criminal activity. We had no connection to the smuggling operation, the driver, or the truck," a brand representative said in a statement to media outlets.
While the cocaine incident raised concerns about SKIMS implication, the brand put the flame out with their immediate statement. The investigation, however, continues into the driver and into drug trafficking in general.
