Prominent Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher and Egyptian singer Hani Shaker have chosen a new song, by poet Mohammad Bin Aboud, to be performed as a duet, marking their first cooperation together. Both singers are currently rehearsing the song and plan on filming it in the form of a music video to be aired on different Arabic music satellite channels in the very near future.
According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, Kathem and Hani had previously worked with poet Mohammed, where as Hani's cooperation was through the song "Li Rahmak" and Kathem through the song "Ghalieh".
Kathem announced that he will postpone the release of his upcoming album until the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan. The singer revealed that he has come to this decision due to the fact that releasing his album now, which was the previous plan, will negatively affect its success.
Kathem added that he felt the best time for the release would be during the Muslim holiday Eid Al Fitr. Kathem handed in the master copy of his latest album since July but Rotana had been constantly delaying the release.
The new album features ten new songs that vary in style and genre, in addition to patriotic song in which the singer expresses his true feelings about the current situation in Iraq under the occupation of Allied forces.
Recently, Hani held two very successful concerts at the closing ceremony of the Jordanian annual summer Jerash festival after an absence of five years. After arriving to Jordan the singer held a press conference for the media and talked in various subjects about modern Arab singing. Shakers suggested to release a cassette that contains only four songs and a video clip, so all the songs would be heard and have their share of success.
Shaker asserted that he is very happy to participate in Jerash and that he was absent because he decided to be away from the lights for a while and then realized that he was wrong and so decided to return back to his fans.
About his new works Shaker said that he is currently choosing songs for his next album, adding that if he could not find a company to produce his album he will be doing it from his own money. –Albawaba.com
