Kacey Musgraves, the seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, has released a new single titled 'Too Good to be True' from her upcoming album 'Deeper Well'.
The song is a heartfelt ballad about the fear of losing a perfect relationship, with lyrics such as "Be good to me and I'll be good to you / But please don't be too good to be true".
'Too Good to be True' follows the lead single 'Deeper Well', which was released earlier this month. Both songs showcase Musgraves' signature blend of folk, pop, and country, with influences from the energy of New York City's Greenwich Village, where she recorded the album at the legendary Electric Lady Studios.
Musgraves said in a press release that she was seeking a different environmental energy for her fifth studio album, which is set to be released on March 15 via Interscope/MCA Nashville. "Sometimes you reach a crossroads. Winds change direction. What you once felt drawn to doesn't hold the same allure, you get blown off course but eventually find your footing and forage for new inspiration, new insight and deeper love somewhere else," she said.
Along with the new single, Musgraves also announced her 'Deeper Well' world tour, which will kick off on April 28 in Dublin, Ireland, and conclude on December 7 in Nashville, Tennessee.
The tour will feature 44 stops across Europe and North America, with support from Madi Diaz, Father John Misty, Lord Huron, and Nickel Creek on select dates.
