Jordan celebrated its 69th Independence Day anniversary on Monday and Palestinian superstar Mohammed Assaf was one of the first to congratulate his homeland's neighboring country on their national holiday.
The 25-year-old dedicated a Facebook post to the patriotic occasion, writing, "I wish all lionhearted Jordanians progress and glory on their 69th Independence Day."
Millions of Palestinians took refuge in Jordan in 1948, so it holds a special place in many of their hearts, including Assaf's.
The singer sincerely thanked Jordan for standing by Palestinians in their time of need and for helping heal their wounds.
"Jordan will forever be the address of dignity and justice. You will always be there to heal Palestinian wounds."
In other news, the UNRWA Goodwill Ambassador is set to perform at a charity concert in Geneva, Switzerland on June 3. The Arab Idol will perform for 90 minutes to a limited audience of 220 people.
