Rap is a world filled with feuds new and old, and J. Cole may have reignited a once-dormant beef when he dropped his new track Middle Child on Wednesday.
Many listeners are suggesting that the 33-year-old ATM rapper took aim at Kanye West in his new track.
Back in December 2016, J. Cole dropped False Prophets, another song that may have been taking aim at the now 41-year-old.
'Just put the Rollie right back on my wrist / This watch came from Drizzy, he gave me a gift,' raps Cole in the song's first verse, before referring to himself and Drake as 'legends.'
It's the repping of Aubrey Graham that may have first had fans wondering if Middle Child was indeed a diss track - as the Hotline Bling singer has been in an on-going feud with Kanye.
But it wasn't until the next set of bars that Cole seemingly took aim at the Yeezus creator.
'But I'd never beef with a n**** for nothin', ' begins the next line.
'If I smoke a rapper, it's gon' be legit / It won't be for clout, it won't be for fame / It won't be 'cause my shit ain't sellin' the same.
'It won't be to sell you my latest lil' sneakers / It won't be 'cause some n**** slid in my lane.'
Back in 2016, fans also thought J. Cole had taken aim at Kanye on his track False Prophets.
The Work Out rapper never directly said if the track was dissing the husband of Kim Kardashian.
Cole remarked on the song in a New York Times interview: 'Rappers rap about other rappers all the time — subliminal insult, direct attack — but rarely from a place of love. “That speaks to the state of us as a people,” he said.
'“For so long my mind state was, I have to show how much better than the next man I am through these bars. Who’s the best? Let me prove it.
'And it’s just like, damn, I’m really feeding into a cycle of keeping black people down, I’m really feeding into that.”'
But it seems Cole may have had a change of heart and may be taking sides in the Kanye-Drake feud.
Cole and Drake have both called Kanye a major influence in the past with the former dubbing him a 'genius' in a 2013 interview with MTV News.
Drake and Kanye's beef, meanwhile, has been going on for eight months at this point, and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.
It all started back in May 2018, when Pusha T took aim at the Canadian former teen soap opera star on his album Daytona, which was produced by The College Dropout creator.

Drake responded by going after Pusha and Kanye with his own diss track, Duppy Freestyle.
But Pusha responded in kind with The Story of Adidon, which brought Aubrey's secret child to light.
The God's Plan rapper never countered the track, and instead confirmed the existence of his kid on his album Scorpion, which he released at the end of June.
The feud has been going on ever since, and new sparks might have been seen flying between Pusha and Drake on Wednesday as well.
'You tried, you failed...I’m hearing you wanna try again, this time I’m not gonna play with you, any of you,' tweeted the Mercy rapper.
Whether the post was about Drake or not remains to be seen.
