ALBAWABA - The official account of Israel on X (formerly known as Twitter) is under fire across social media after responding to the ban of Bassem Youssef on the platform as pro-Palestine users deemed it "Evil" and "unprofessional."

The official account posted a screenshot of Bassem Youssef's ban with the caption "Bye." This triggered a swarm of comments from pro-Palestine users including content creators like Mohamed Hijab saying:

"The fact that a "country"'s official account is commenting on an individual activist abroad shows both the impact of that activism and the fragility of it."

Several users also pointed out that Mohamed Hijab's comment received more likes than Israel's original post triggering a swarm of comments mocking the account in question. "You just got ratioed on your own post..."

Here's what some had to say about the issue at hand while also mocking the page in question for posting something this "unprofessional":

"The only country that has freedom of speech in the Middle East scared of freedom of speech."

"Thank you for admitting you were behind this."

"You’re not serious people... I checked 3 times to make sure this was a page with a grey check mark."

Why was Bassem Youssef removed from X?

On Aug. 20, 2024, Egyptian comedian Bassem Youssef went viral on Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter) when the individual's account was removed from the platform after criticizing Israelis using "Antisemitism" as a fear tactic to shut down conversations and scare people into talking their minds.

Bassem Youssef has been a great advocate for the Palestinian people by sharing his pro-Palestine views in different podcasts on platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and more.

Moreover, his debate with Piers Morgan where they discussed the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, went viral and garnered millions of views on YouTube.
