Syrian actor and rising musical star Hussam Tahsin Baik, famous for writing the classical love song “Natalia”, announced that he has a patriotic song in store for compatriots who could do with something of a pick up right now.

His Syrian feel-better song in the wings tells the tune of the heartache and agony faced by Syrians caught up in the turmoil of their homeland. A visual of the struggle will accompany the song in a video shot across a mix of local neighbourhoods around the country.

Hussam’s latest television drama “Al Amimi” is airing on Arab satellite channel MBC.  A drama of the days of yore under the Ottoman Empire, the series captures traditional Syrian life, an aspect dear to the actor's heart.

Baik himself, struck by a mood of nostalgia for old Syrian life before revolution, has spoken of his own backgroud, growing up a similar miliieu to that of a traditional Syrian neighborhood.
