ALBAWABA - Iraqi-American makeup mogul Huda Beauty recently sparked outrage among activists after resharing a pro-Iranian Islamic regime post on her story, causing mass boycott calls for her products.

The backlash prompted the popular influencer to share a two-minute apology video to her Iranian fans via Instagram. Huda revealed in the video that she was advised not to share it until things die down, but she needed to "hold herself accountable" and "make things clear on where she stands in the political matter.

Huda Beauty stated further that she doesn't support the Iranian regime and had a three-and-a-half-hour conversation with people who know a lot about Iran to have a better understanding of the ongoing Iranian revolution.

In the apology video, Huda confessed that she made a mistake and that she had only good intentions with her political views on the matter, stating that her opinion has always been an anti-war one. The makeup mogul stated that she's aware that the post she reshared upset her Iranian community, and that she regrets not showing up for them.

Hud also said, "When it comes to free Iran... I think that should mean many things like free Iran from sanctions, free Iran from oppression, free Iran from the control of its government, which is killing them."

Huda recently reshared a "pro-regime" Iran post on her Insatgram stories, prompting boycott calls and a flood of videos on social media that captured Iranian women destroying the influencer's makeup products.

A social media user wrote on X, "Boycott @hudabeauty. She posted nothing about the massacre of Iranians, and chose to post regime propaganda instead."

Additionally, several other anti-regime activists urged the French brand Sephora to drop its contract with Huda Beauty because of her political stance on several topics, including Iran.
