Traditional Arab male meets free spirited, open-minded Arab female - would he get seriously involved with her? The new film “Li’bit Hub” (Love Game) explores the question, and filming has already begun at the ‘Al Ahram Studios’ in Cairo.
The film stars Tunisian actor Hind Sabri, along with Egyptian actors Khaled Abu Al Naja, Basma and Bushra. The script was written by Ahmad Al Naser and Sami Hussam, and marks director Mohammad Ali’s first film.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, the film is produced by ‘Egyptian Media Production City,’ which has set a budget of five million Egyptian pounds.
Hind plays the role of ‘Laila,’ a fashion designer, who despite the fact that she creates the latest styles in fashion refuses to wear them. Independent, she lives a life of freedom.
Khaled stated that the romantic film has a comical element that hinges upon ironic situations in relationships. The film raises the question of whether love is stronger than differences between people, he added.
On a different note, Hind received an award for “Best Actress” for her role in the film “Ahla Al Awqat” (The Best of Times), during an awards ceremony at the Journalists Association in Egypt. This is the fourth award she has received for her role in the past year.
