ALBAWABA - Ariana Grande was noticeably absent from the 2025 Met Gala—here’s what may have kept her away.
Following the conclusion of the Met Gala for "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," celebrities walked the red carpet with the sole directive to adhere to the "Tailored for You" dress code. But who didn't participate in this year's celebrations? Ariana Grande is that person.
This year, Ari's co-stars from Wicked, Cynthia Erivo and Jeff Goldblum, were seen on the Met steps, but the multihyphenate was conspicuously missing from the fashion show. And why? Given that she recently released her deluxe album and short film, Eternal Sunshine: Brighter Days Ahead, she is probably attempting to maintain a low profile.

The last time Ariana was seen, she was in New York with Ethan Slater, supporting her closest friend Liz Gillies at the Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors. The three were even photographed backstage by photographer Vincenzo Dimino:
Ariana is also getting ready for another promotional tour, this time for Wicked: For Good, in case you missed it. During the making of these films, the two became very close friends, and Ariana has talked a lot about their relationship.
"It's something that was important to us from the very beginning, to build something real and to know that we could have a safe space in each other for this journey because it was going to be tremendous," she told NPR in February. "We knew it was going to be years and years of some of the hardest work of our lives, and it's something that we started building from the day we were cast. We FaceTimed and congratulated each other, and the announcement happened, and the celebratory dinner happened. I liked her, but it suddenly became extremely real. I contacted them and said, "All right, let's keep in contact and give each other a call while we're looking over the documents. The stakes for this production are going to be quite high, so I want to be there for you and help make sure you have all you need. I also want us to tackle everything together."
