A company that made giant puppets for 'N Sync has sued the boy band for selling concert souvenirs that included photos of the figures.
The lawsuit filed late Tuesday says Sid and Marty Krofft Pictures made the 7.6-meter (25-foot) look-alike puppets for the band's performance at this year's American Music Awards.
Named as defendants are band members Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Lance Bass and Joey Fatone Jr, band manager Johnny Wright and others.
The lawsuit says Wright asked Krofft to make puppets representing each 'N Sync member for a performance of the song Bye Bye Bye during the awards show.
In the spring, the band sold souvenir programs at concerts, showing a picture of the Krofft puppets on the back cover, according to the complaint.
Laminated "backstage passes,” with a picture of the puppets, were also sold.
The Kroffts want damages, attorney's fees and part of the profits from the sales of the souvenirs.
