The owner of ‘Melody’ music channels Jamal Marwan has sued Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi for 20 million US dollars. Jamal has accused Haifa of breaking the terms of the contract they have signed with her and is demanding financial compensation for damaged caused.

The singer had refused to accept the condition set by the company to own exclusive rights to all her music, video clips, and performances.

A number of songs by Haifa were being aired exclusively on Melody music channels without taking her permission to do so in advance.

On his part, the legal advisor for the company, Ala Wahbah, asserted that Haifa’s decision to refuse having her clips aired on Melody, especially her new clips, is a breaking of the agreement she has with the company.

On a different note, Haifa is preparing for the release of her new album titled “Sir Ghareeb” (A Strange Secret), which has been postponed several times due to a number of circumstances.
